A Proper Nights End

Hartman's Creek Waupaca

Came home from Copper Harbor and wanted to do more biking.  I have been looking for an easy single track to get my wife into biking.  We stumbled upon Hartman’s Creek State Park in Waupaca, Wi.  I took her on the easy section which is under 3.5 miles.  From the baseball diamond you head back about a 1/2 mile to the trails which is an easy warm up and cool down after.  The easy trail has very few root and rocks so great for beginners.
After that we headed to Bear Lake Campground and picked up some Cedar Creek ice cream.  We had a desire for some good coffee so we headed into town.  Waupaca has three coffee house which we only found after asking at Kwick Trip.  All are off Main Street.  The only one open at 6 was Little Fat Gretchen’s and damn was it good.

Both Ashley and I thought it was a great little dinner with classic charm.

Canyon Falls Road Side Area

Canyon falls and Gorge is found south of Baraga, Michigan in Alberta.  This is the small upper rapids section.  If you go to the end of the ten minute hike you will see a large waterfall threw a cut rock Gorge.  We almost got ran over by some locals jumping off the cliff about 5-10 minute hike past the end of he trail.  The only advice we got was jump before the rope so you can use it to get out of the fast moving water.

A nice 30 minute stop between Marquette and Munising

Feel free to get out of your car and stretch your legs.  Along the path you will find many interesting sculptures.

Munising Beach

Beach shoreline on Lake Superior

Lake Superior shoreline in Picturesque Munising, Mi. I took this picture on our drive back to Marquette after enjoying a good cup of coffee at The Falling Rocks CafĂ© in town.  My lattĂ© hit the spot to warm up the cool breeze from the lake.  Don't forget to check out the scenic overlook of the harbor.

Copper Harbor Trails

Copper Harbor Trails

Red Trail
Read all signs along the way. These trails are M-26 to the end of the world you find Copper Harbor, Mi proudly at top. This little town is home to beautiful drives threw hills and turns only beat by the IMBA ranked mountain bike trails. Copper Harbor Trails map can be found in the local bike shop.not like most in the Midwest. The ratings do not lie advanced is advanced. Ride with caution and watch out for other people and wildlife. I almost got ran over by a bear cub, yes there are bears. Near the end of the Mango Trail I popped out onto Manganese Rd and saw Manganese Falls.

From this point you can get back onto the single track and finish the last little bit. I proceeded to cruise down the road past the Brickside Brewery.
